Responsible for Subject Matter Expertise in all aspects of mission support of VCE: Prevention, diagnosis, mitigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of ocular injuries incurred in military service. Identification of essential systems-level capabilities necessary for optimal ocular care across the military care continuum from battlefield to CONUS, and assessment of current posture. Specific consideration and support to aspects such as existing doctrine, organization, training and education, materiel and logistics, policies, personnel, and research and development (R&D) gaps and needs.

Coordination of Care of Active duty Service members, Veterans and Dependents with ophthalmic injuries, diseases and conditions requiring care at all Defense Health Agency Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) and/or within the Veterans Health Administration Health Care System.

Supervise all continuing education events, webinars and instructional courses for the VCE and Primary Optometric Lecturer for VCE

Director and Host, VCE Global Monthly Ocular Trauma and Vision Readiness (OTVR) Video teleconference (VTC) since 2017

      Develop and maintain 24 month schedule of events

      Maintain recording and library of all past VTC’s

      Disseminate recordings to any/all DoD/VA Ophthalmologists and Optometrists globally 24/7

      Arrange all monthly surgical ophthalmology surgical resident ocular trauma case presentations
